Stream Investigation: Create Your Own Leaf Pack Experiment Registration
Thank you for your interest in our event! Please complete the registration form below.

The Venango Conservation District is hosting a Leaf Pack Experiment to provide a fun and educational afternoon learning about aquatic stream species and their role in determining ecosystem health. Participants will learn how to sample and identify aquatic macroinvertebrates, test water quality, and determine best management practices for stream ecosystems.

The event will take place at Two Mile Run County Park's Pioneer Flats recreation area on Friday, May 10, 2024 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Pioneer Flats is located at the northern end of the park along Two Mile Run. We will meet at Pioneer Pavilion. A map of Two Mile Run County Park can be found here.

This activity will be outdoors, so please dress for the weather. If creek conditions permit (i.e. water level and temperature), participants can enter the water during macroinvertebrate collection. Be sure to wear shoes such as boots or old sneakers to walk in the creek.

This event is free and open to the public. Any questions can be directed to the Venango Conservation District by calling (814) 676-2832.
