World Fest - Water, Energy and Education
Join us for the lunch discussion - Water, Energy and Education in West and East Africa - with Caltech Alum Dr. Adrian Hightower BS (‘95) and PhD (‘01).    In addition to overseeing all water related education outreach programs, events and curriculum at the Metropolitan District of Southern California, he conducts international research and facilitates entrepreneurial activities addressing Sustainability, Renewable Energy and the Water-Energy Nexus.

Thursday, April 25 | 12:00 - 1:00 PM | Avery Dining Hall | Lunch provided to the first 50

For many years, Dr. Hightower applied his passion for renewable energy by leading student trips to Africa to install solar panels.  In his current role as the Education Unit Manager at the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and as a board member of AID Africa, he continues to work in rural villages in West and East Africa.  Join us as Dr. Hightower discusses how he uses his expertise with renewable energy and water treatment technologies to address the water-energy nexus in Africa by rebuilding sustainable communities through education and improving people’s living conditions.

World Fest, featuring lunch events Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday as well as our signature event the International Food Fair and Culture Show on Wednesday, is coordinated by the Caltech International Offices and the Caltech Y.
