The Learning Cohort invites young curious learners who love to read, ask questions, and look for answers to join a cohort of like-minded peers and mentors. Our teachers:
Natalia Black graduated from the State Pedagogical University in Moscow and the New School in New York. She has been working as a teacher, translator and a screenwriter. Natalia has been teaching Russian Language, Literature, and Culture for twenty years. Native Russian speaker, fluent in English.
Dina Black has been working as a reading specialist, teacher assistant and curriculum developer. She is an avid reader and a talented writer. Native English speaker, fluent in Russian.
Elena Volkova graduated from the State Pedagogical University in Moscow with double major (Biology and English). Talented and creative educator, she has been teaching students to read and write without pain and tears for forty years. She was the first teacher in Russia who implemented US-Russian educational learning exchange and communication programs. Native Russian speaker, fluent in English.
Jolie Black, a student at Brandeis University, has been working as a ELA teacher, writing tutor, coach, interpreter, researcher and teaching assistant for four years. Former homeschooler and early HS graduate, now she is a student at Brandeis University, conducting research and taking graduate level classes. Native English speaker, fluent in Russian.
