The Youth Advisory Council is a “youth as grant makers” project of the Community Foundation for Mason County. The YAC is made up of student representatives from Mason County schools and is supported by an adult advisor. The YAC engages young people in solving real problems affecting their communities and peers. YAC members help set policy and guide distribution of $10,000 a year in grants to promising youth related projects in Mason County. The YAC also serves as Mason County’s own local panel of experts regarding youth issues and conduct a youth needs assessment of Mason County high school students every three years.
