2024 Envision Student Poster Session Competition – Google Form
Join us for the 2024 Envision Student Poster Competition focusing on Child Maltreatment. The poster competition will take place on June 25 during the Envision: The Future of Prevention conference at the Bloomberg Center in Washington, D.C.

All student submissions related to child maltreatment are welcome, including (but not limited to):
  • Child sexual abuse
  • Child physical abuse and neglect
  • Bullying
  • Peer-on-peer harassment and violence
  • Prevention practice and policy
The 2024 student poster session will feature work from both undergraduate and graduate students (from Johns Hopkins University and other academic institutions). The poster session committee especially invites presentations that focus on:
  • New Research
  • Projects that are underway or planned for the future
  • Historical/Landmark studies for the field

Prizes

First place will receive $200, second will receive $150, and third will receive $100.

This poster session is exclusively for undergraduate and graduate students.

Abstract submissions will be reviewed for compliance with our submission guidelines. Submissions that do not follow the outlined requirements will be automatically rejected. Abstracts will be considered on a rolling basis until the poster session is full. The final deadline for abstracts is June 1, 2024. Students will be notified that their abstract has either been accepted or rejected within one week of their submission. We encourage early submissions.

If accepted, a digital copy of the poster (either PDF or a power point slide) must be submitted to EnvisionPosterCompetition@gmail.com by June 14, 2024 to be judged in advance of the in-person presentation. The presenting author of the poster must be present on June 25, 2024 to present the poster in person at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg Center in Washington, D.C. Winners will be announced at the end of the presentation session.
Submission Guidelines
To enter this competition, please complete the following form. At the end of the form, you will be asked to submit an abstract describing your potential poster. There is a 200-word maximum for abstracts.
  • The poster session committee especially invites presentations that focus on:
  • New research findings
  • Projects that are underway or planned for the future
  • Historical/Landmark studies for the field
All student submissions related to child maltreatment, including child sexual abuse, child physical abuse and neglect, bullying, peer-on-peer harassment and violence, and prevention practice and policy, are welcome. While previously presented work is welcomed, students may not enter posters presented at past Envision Student Poster Competitions. Students may submit multiple abstracts and present multiple posters but each student is only eligible to win one prize.

Abstracts and posters must be in English and posters must be sized no larger than 48 inches by 60 inches.

All accepted posters must be set up by their authors in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg Center in Washington, D.C., between 8:00 am and 11:00 am on June 25, 2024. Posters will be judged on originality, content, organization, and visual display. Additional information about poster guidelines will be included in abstract acceptance letters. Students will be expected to report to the presentation room at 3:00 pm, and present their posters from 3:15 pm to 4:00 pm on June 25, 2024.
Important Dates
Please take note of the following dates and times:

June 1, 2024: Deadline for abstraction submission. No late abstracts will be accepted.

June 7, 2024: Final acceptances and rejections will be sent out, along with information about the location of the Student Poster Competition within the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg Center, by the Envision team.

June 14, 2024: A digital copy (.pdf, .ppt, or .pptx) of your poster must be submitted to EnvisionPosterCompetition@gmail.com.

June 25, 2024: 
  • 8:00 am to 11:00 am: Authors set up their posters in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg Center at 555 Pennsylvania Ave, Washington, D.C.
  • 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm: The first author of the poster will present it at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg Center. The winner will be announced at the end of the session.
