Open Positions for the San Carlos Belmont Parents Club

A lot has changed for the club in the last two years; we used to host multiple events each month and COVID-19 has changed much of that! Now we're restarting in-person events and need volunteers if we want our community to be revived and thrive again. A quick reminder that this club is run by volunteer parents for community parents.

Please fill out the form below if you are interested in a role(s) as Playgroup Leads, Event Organizers and Club Administrators (all volunteer positions). You can choose multiple positions you're interested in! If there is an overwhelming response to each position, we'll be sure to connect separately to confirm roles.

Time Commitment: can vary but usually 2-4 hours per month in terms of planning and attending an event. For Event Organizers and Club Administrators, there is a Monthly Board Meeting that happens every 1st Thursday of the month to get updates across all club business.

Playgroup Leads/Organizers

Create playgroups that meet at least once per month, but as much as the group wants to come together. To load balance and make sure there are different times available, we are looking for ~3 organizers. Organizers are responsible for picking a place and time for everyone to gather - usually a park or event like story time at the library.

6 MONTHS - 18 MONTHS

18 MONTHS - 3 YEARS

3 YEARS - 5 YEARS

Event Organizers (Board Member position)

Organizers are responsible for planning, budgeting, and attending events to help build community within the club. SCBPC will subsidizes some event costs based on the organizer's assessment of costs for event.

CAMPING. SCBPC traditionally organizes a short local camping trip for families in the summer. (Looking for 3 volunteers)

MOM'S NIGHT OUT. Usually once per month. Can vary from happy hours, pampering events, coffee meetups, etc. (3)

DAD'S NIGHT OUT. Usually once per month. Can vary from happy hours, bowling/sports activities, coffee meetups, etc. (3)

CHILDREN'S OUTINGS. Usually once per month. Can vary from cookie decorating, music concerts, Santa visits, etc. (3)

FAMILY EVENTS. These are usually large quarterly events such as visiting museums, farms, or summer festival setup. (3)

SPEAKER SERIES. Organize speaker events where experts talk about interesting topics for parents such as baby sign language, potty training, mindfulness, etc. Usually held in the San Carlos Library, we aim for one talk every two months. (2)

Club Administrators (Board Member position)

SCBPC board members meet on first Thursday of each month to discuss club business, hear updates across events, and vote on important decisions.

VICE PRESIDENT. The responsibility is to run the meeting and/or set the agenda for Monthly Board Meetings when the president is absent. (1)

SOCIAL MEDIA. Post club events on social media, such as Nextdoor, Facebook, Instagram, and Meetup. Organize sweepstakes to engage members. (2)

COMMUNITY RELATIONS. Connect with local businesses in the community to get discounts and other offers for our members. (2)

MEMBERSHIP. Maintain member lists on website, support requests, membership cancellations, etc. (2)

EDUCATION LIAISON. Connects with preschools to present them to the community. (2)

WEBMASTER. Maintains and enhances the club's website and various technologies. (1)
