HS Online Enrollment Criteria
When taking an online class, you are taking this class independent of JWP,  and enrolled with NSO or Northern Star Online. You are responsible for registering, communicating with the school, and receiving confirmation from the online school of your completion of the class and grade. Students enrolled in online courses will be assigned a classroom location and class period at JWP to complete coursework.

Students should note that requests are not finalized until all signatures have been obtained and they have gained the approval of the school counselor to make these changes. Students need to continue to attend and participate in the class they are registered for at JWP until the change is official. Parents are highly encouraged to speak directly with the online school prior to making a decision to support this request.

JWP High School Online Class Basics

Deciding on the class and all details of the initial registration with the online provider is the responsibility of the student and parent/guardian.
1.  Your school counselor and parent are notified by email that your request is awaiting approval.
2. Your school counselor and parent are notified by email if you are not progressing in your online course.
3.  Your request must meet the requirement of notice to the school district of intention by current registration/grading deadlines of JWP High School (two days into a new semester).
4.  You can only request to enroll less than 50% of the school day online.
5.  Students must be in good standing to enroll in an online course.
6.  Online classes are formatted so that daily login and work completion is required.
7.  Successful completion of an online course depends on the student’s daily motivation.
8.  Online learning does not work for all students.
9.  If you drop an online class or are administratively removed, you earn a failing semester grade (F) which factors into your cumulative GPA.
10.  Communicating with the online school about progress or lack of progress is the responsibility of the student and parent/guardian.
