*CONSCIOUS DANCE is defined as a body-based way of raising consciousness. There are growing numbers of movers and shakers developing and honing their potential through moving meditations, self-expression and sweat. Conscious Dance is rooted in free-style movement and spontaneous expression. With over 100 modalities of conscious dance including Open Floor tm, 5Rhythms tm, Contact Improvisation and Authentic Movement, the benefits of these practices are both numerous and deep. With sensitive facilitation from teachers, dancers of all shapes and sizes may be guided to listen to body-mind connections, explore sensation, express emotion, develop body-based resources for living and relish being in the present moment. Conscious dance can empower, create bliss, connection and has the potential to heal the psyche. The mental, emotional, spiritual and physical benefits seen.
*Conscious Dance: movement and dance based practices that prioritise the process of movement/dance over artistic product. Dance and movement is valued primarily for its capacity to further the physical, emotional, cognitive, social and spiritual well-being and integration of participants.
