Schedule Change Request
Rules of Engagement:
  • All schedule change and no-call requests must be submitted 3 months ahead of time - earlier, the better
  • There is NO GUARANTEE that schedule change requests will be honored
  •  If you are submitting a change on a schedule that has already been published to the public schedule, the members affected by this change MUST agree to the change, for example, if you are resident that wants to steal a golden weekend from your interns and they have already been assigned Saturday off, they must be agreeable
What happens after I submit?
  • In general, schedule change requests are reviewed by the Scheduling Committee every Monday
  • We typically get back with either approvals or challenges identified within 1-2 weeks
  • Amion changes are made by Amy Luu and Subspecialty Coordinators for medicine and non-medicine services, respectively
  • Chiefs update the public excel schedule on linktree
If your schedule change has been approved, you are responsible for:
  • Closing the loop with your team and your supervising attending
  • Checking to make sure Amion, GMC schedule (on your epic, "open slots"), Excel has been correctly updated

Schedule change requests ask a LOT from our Valley Family and affect wellness in ways that are hard to comprehend. We do our best to honor all requests, but please help us triage among the literally hundreds of requests that we get this year and the endless requirements asked of residents. Of all of your schedule change requests this year, please rank how important this one is to you so we can come up with the best possible solutions for everyone:
I can't put into words how important this is, I would cancel all the rest of my schedule requests for the year to make this happen
