The Chalk Art Showcase is one of our favorite parts of Butlerville Days.  We love the creativity and look forward to seeing the designs each year. This is a great opportunity for artists to share their creative voice, for families to compete together and start a new fun summer tradition, and for beginner artists to stretch out of their comfort zones! We encourage all ages and skill levels to enter!

Butlerville Days Chalk Art Contest Rules
Saturday, July 27 - 7 a.m. - 10 a.m.
1.         In order to guarantee a shirt your $10 registration fee will be due on or before July 8, 5:00 p.m.

2.         There will be five categories in which drawings will be judged and prizes awarded:
             i.           Adult Advanced (18+ years old with past experience in sidewalk chalk art)
             ii.           Adult Novice (18+ years old with little or no prior experience with sidewalk chalk art)
             iii.         Teen (13-17 years old)
             iv.          Child (12 and under)
             v.           Family/Team (everyone on the team must be registered to participate)

3.         Each participant or team will be assigned a 4 ft. x 4 ft. square pavement space, each participant will receive a Butlerville Days Chalk Art Contest shirt.

4.         Participants will bring their own chalk, shade, and water. No fixatives or oil based chalks are allowed on the pavement.

5.         The city and Butlerville Days committee encourages original artwork, but requires participants to give credit for images derived from other sources.

6.         Photos of artwork will be taken and may be used for promotional purposes.

7.         The City of Cottonwood Heights and Butlerville Days Committee reserve the right to disqualify any artwork that is deemed inappropriate.

8.         The contest will end at 10 a.m., art will be judged, and prizes awarded by 10:30 a.m
