Welcome to Robot Uprising: Micro Invaders 2024 competition!

Fill in your contact details and team status to register as competitor to the Robot Uprising: Micro Invaders 2024 competition! The Initial Registration Period is open until Sunday 26.5. Registration may be possible after this depending on the confirmed team count. You may also be invited to join confirmed teams still looking for more members.

The competition takes place between teams of 2 to 5 people. Each team member must register individually. If you don't have a team yet, you can still register.

Please note that after submitting the form you will receive an email confirmation which also includes a link to update your submission.

Filling out the registration form does not guarantee placement in the competition. We will review applications and confirming team placements progressively throughout the application period. For the 2024 competition we're looking for 10 to 20 teams to compete.

Our main communication to the competitors happens in our Discord community, where you will receive important updates regarding the competition, dates of social gatherings, workshops and team building / match making events etc. Besides information, you get to know other competitors and community members, can start tinkering on your competition solution, ask questions, get sneak-peaks and otherwise have a good time.

We ask this to better plan our workshops and other events during the summer. Most likely these will take place in Helsinki, Espoo (Otaniemi) or Riihimäki, with remote participation also possible.

Participation to the Final Tournament on 20.-21.9. at Riihimäki *

The Final Showcase / Tournament takes place in September at the HAMK campus in Riihimäki and consists of a preparation and testing day on Friday 20.9. and the tournament day on Saturday 21.9.

While it's possible to prepare for the competition and develop the solution fully on your own, the majority of each team must physically participate to the Finals in September.

Technical Background / Skills (optional)

The aim of the competition is to provide a fun environment where you get to learn about building game (ro)bots using ML or heuristic methods, but it's by no means a requirement to already know these things. The organizers will provide help and examples to get you started. You should however ensure that the majority of your team has at least basic programming skills.
