MUCE Resident Curators 2022 Program offers Gallery space at the MUCE Campus for exceptional emerging and professional curators to enhance their creative and curatorial skills at the MUCE Campus Gallery. Resident Curators will direct the MUCE gallery, by producing (1) independent exhibit and managing (1) Group Exhibition.   This 1-year residency is dedicated to curators whose work/themes/research explore or are influenced by cultural concepts within the African Diaspora.   MUCE Resident Curators are provided space to develop their practice, collaborate with other artist and participate in exhibitions, public programming, business development courses, and community outreach initiatives.

Eligibility and Requirements
Please apply only if you are a practicing curator who:

-needs space and time to develop new works and can actively engage in The MUCE Resident Curator program
-able to commit to 4 hours weekly to volunteer for MUCE Campus projects/ Needs
-able to commit to 12-15 hours per week developing new works, planning, and completing gallery hours
-curate (1) independent exhibit, and oversee the planning of (1) Group Show with MUCE Resident Artist
-Organize (1) event per exhibit in collaboration with unique community partners
-Attend openings and assist with set up/takedown, greet visitors, communicate about the artworks, and offer
 them for sale
-With the support of MUCE’s team, coordinate the press, promotion, and social media work, installation/de--
 installation, networking, member onboarding, community events, artwork sales;
-wants to grow their craft as a professional curator and contribute to Miami’s cultural scene
-is a cultural member of or with heritage from the African Diaspora that influences the context of your work
-Eligible to work in the US
-Will assist and support another curatorial fellow in their development of work
