As a Bilingüe family member we expect you to agree and help us keep up with the rules and guidelines. Please read them and sign the acceptance form to let us know you are aware and will try your best to keep them. Also talk to your children about the rules (all ages) and let them know to always be in their best behavior.

1.Respect – I respect, I embrace our differences and I am considerate of my fellow homeschoolers and their family. I pay attention when others are talking and give everyone a chance to be heard. I respect the ideas and opinions of others even if I don't agree with them. We agree to treat our children, COORDINATORS and each other with respect. We are stronger when we work together.

Parents should at no time leave or “drop off” the children alone at the park or an event. Bilingue is not responsible for your children. The coordinators or Bilingue are not “babysitters.” Adult attendance is expected unless there is an illness or unforeseen circumstance. If you are unable to attend, please notify the coordinator immediately.

Please be sure you arrive and report ON TIME to the events and meetings. We are depending on you! If you are running late, please notify the coordinator immediately. Continued lateness (two strikes) will result in a review of your membership by our advisory committee and may result in the termination of membership. We do realize that illness and unforeseen emergencies may arise. If this happens, it is YOUR responsibility to call the coordinator before the meeting to let them know you will not be there.

2. Respect the flora and fauna - Basura Zero... No climbing on the airplane or trees and most important no pulling or breaking branches or flowers. Stay within the park or event boundaries and don’t let the children climb the fence to the other side of the park. it’s important we keep the area clean and we recommend to bring your own bag to take trash with you. Just do what Scouts say “keep it cleaner than how you found it.” Keep the park environment and the local community free from litter.

3. Sick Policy - If your child or yourself is sick or presenting XYZ symptoms please stay home. We have to be conscious & empathetic for everyone's health & safety. A small cold may put another child's health at risk. Do NOT come to BILINGUE if anyone in your family has had the stomach bug in the last 72 hours, especially if you have more than one child. Please do not come to BILINGUE if anyone has had a fever for any reason or yellow/green mucus in the last 24 hours. If one child is sick, please do not bring the rest of the crew. The CDC recommends a child/adult must be free of all of the symptoms listed below for at least 24 hours: Fever, Fever and sore throat, rash, diarrhea, earache, irritability or confusion, Diarrhea, Vomiting (defined as 2 or more times in a 24 hour period), Body rash with fever, Sore throat with fever and swollen glands; Severe coughing; Eye discharge; Yellowish skin or eyes; Any other communicable disease (including but not limited to: skin infections, childhood diseases such as chicken pox, measles, etc.); Child/Adult must be on antibiotics for at least 48 hours. You will be asked to leave.

4. Willingness - I am a member of a homeschool community and will equally share responsibilities. We realize that COORDINATORS will be contributing a significant amount of time and effort to provide a rewarding experience for the BILINGUE FAMILIES. We will cooperate and be as helpful as possible. We will volunteer, share and comply to roles and responsibilities every time we meet.

Parents are expected to volunteer services to the group for events that may include but are not limited to the following: teaching; hosting a Mom’s Night Out; planning/coordinating field trips, social gatherings, parties, etc; setting up, assisting during, or clean up of special events/field trips/etc. Each job is important for the success of the Bilingue group.

We ask that all parents actively keep a lookout for children who are running, rough-housing, or being disrespectful to the property we are using.

5. Accountability – I will arrive at meetings and events on time. I will communicate with the coordinators in case I can’t make it to a meeting or event and will pay the fees needed when I agree to participate.

Primary communication will be via Facebook and WhattsApp. Please check Facebook and WhattsApp frequently for news and updates. It is YOUR responsibility to know what is going on.

Please follow these steps in the event of an absence, scheduled or not:
A. Notify the Coordinator.
B. If you are a coordinator, you must arrange for a substitute, preferably one of your helpers, and get the appropriate materials to them to cover the event. This is YOUR responsibility.
C. If you are a helper, the Coordinator will find someone to cover your spot. You still need to notify the Coordinator that you will not be at Bilingue.
D. If you are responsible for bringing something to the event, you must make arrangements to get it to us or see if someone would bring it instead. We are counting on you.

Failure for any members to not show without calling ahead of time more than 2 times will result in a review of your membership by our advisory committee and may result in termination of membership.
More than 2 unexcused absences {unexcused absence is an absence for something other than an illness or emergency} will result in a review of your membership by our advisory committee and may result in the termination of membership.

6. Bullying - Bullying can be physical, verbal, or emotional. Bullying consists of, but is not limited to: name-calling, violence, theft, rumors, exclusion, threats, intimidation, put-downs and pranks. Students should all be treated with courtesy and equality regardless of age, gender, race, religion, orientation, size, disability, intelligence, athletic ability or popularity.

Student pledges to uphold the following rules:
• To abide by the Bilingue policy concerning bullying and harassment.
• To report incidents of bullying to a trusted adult.
• To stand up for victims of bullying.
• To encourage others to treat all students with respect and courtesy.
• To help make the Bilingue a place where everyone feels safe, heard, and respected.

7. Multimedia/Photo Policy - Members of Bilingue may use various media to record our classes and events and to recognize families and their participation and accomplishments, such as yearbook, graduation, performances, field trips, etc. By becoming a member of Bilingue, you are granting us permission to use you/your child’s image/likeness and voice in different forms of print, digital or electronic. This includes but is not limited to public display of flyers, special events, advertisement, internet or print. We cannot be held responsible for what other Bilingue members may do with their own photos/videos that they have captured.

8. Minimum Donation - A $10.00 non-refundable donation per child is due at the time of registration. You understand that by requesting a membership to Bilingue, you are doing so with the intent to participate from September 2020 until May 2021. Membership for each year must be renewed each August.

Extra fees above and beyond registration may include field trips, special events, etc. or class fees for labs, textbooks, reading books, art supplies, etc. Class fees will be due at the time of sign-up. Field trip, special event, etc. fees will be due by specified due date. Children will not be permitted to attend their classes until class fees are paid in full. Please see the coordinator if other financial arrangements are necessary.

9. Class Cancellations/Inclement Weather Policy
In the event of inclement weather, please check radio, TV, or internet and follow the government closure decisions. If it is necessary to cancel classes/event for any other reasons. We will notify via Facebook and WhattsApp.

10. Conflict Resolution - We do realize that with so many different personalities, conflicts and misunderstandings may arise. This may be due to poor communication or if there are different expectations. Most can be resolved with overlooking and forgiving the person who offended you. If you still feel the conflict/difference must be addressed, take the problem first to the person you feel has offended you. If you cannot reach a satisfactory resolution, please ask for assistance of an adult to mediate.
PARENTS: If your child has trouble with another child please find the parent of the child and try to find a peaceful way to keep the friendship... remember we are responsible for our children. An adult under any circumstance should not write, text or speak to another person’s child to discipline or reprimand them or speak of private matters without the child’s parent’s consent. If the problem persists and cannot be corrected satisfactorily, notify the coordinator. The coordinator will create a Bilingue advisory committee to work the situation.

11. Field Trip/Special Events Guidelines

A. All students participating in field trips/special events must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. You may not drop your children off.

B. Please look over all information, considering age appropriateness and other requirements and suggestions, on field trips/special events and ask questions before you sign up. Do NOT sign your child(ren) up if they will be unable to attend.

C. If, for some reason, you cannot attend a Field Trip/Special Event that has already been paid for, you will not be reimbursed. If you have “tickets”, please make every effort to make sure someone goes in your place, especially if we have received a group rate for those “tickets.” Empty seats reflect poorly on our group. You may sell your tickets, but if it comes down to it, please consider giving your tickets to someone else. This is YOUR responsibility, NOT the responsibility of the person coordinating that particular field trip/special event. Illness or unforeseen circumstances may be considered for a refund. Please contact the field trip/special event coordinator to discuss your situation.

D. Arrive at the specified location on the day of the field trip/special event at least 20 minutes early so that you can be at our designated area on time.

E. Parents are responsible for the appropriate behavior of their children and any children they bring. Please be courteous of all tour guides, personnel, building and equipment. Remember that you are a representative of Bilingue and the homeschool community. We do not want our children’s or our own behavior to reflect poorly.

F. Please plan ahead of time any items you need to bring (lunches, sunscreen, jackets, bug spray, etc.).

G. Inform your children what will be taking place during our field trips/special events and what is expected of them so that they will be prepared as well.

Field Trip/Special Event Guidelines for Children
(Parents, please review this with your child.)
1. Be courteous and polite at all times.
2. Respect all others and the property at the location of the field trip/special event at all times.
3. Obey your parents/teachers and follow all rules at the location of the field trip/special events.
4. Listen carefully and attentively to instructors, guides, and staff.
5. Be patient in waiting your turn.
6. Please be cheerful and do not complain.
7. Be thankful to all those who helped during the field trip/special event. Don’t forget to say “thank you” to the people conducting the class, event, or tour.

Parents please review these yourself and with your child(ren) prior to the first day of Bilingue.

We agree to ensure our children adhere to club rules, work etiquette and role delegation.

ACCIDENT WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY FORM I HEREBY ASSUME ALL OF THE RISKS OF PARTICIPATING IN ANY/ALL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH Bilingue Homeschoolers PR, including by way of example and not limitation, any risks that may arise from negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities being released, from dangerous or defective equipment or property owned, maintained, or controlled by them, or because of their possible liability without fault. I certify that I understand this activity has potential risks. I acknowledge that this Accident Waiver and Release of Liability Form will be used by the organizers of the activity in which I may participate, and that it will govern my actions and responsibilities at said activity. I agree that all staff or authorized agents may, in their sole discretion, determine it is unsafe for myself or others for my participation to continue, remove me from the premises by any lawful means. In consideration of my application and permitting me to participate in this activity, I hereby take action for myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors, and assigns as follows: (A) I WAIVE, RELEASE, AND DISCHARGE from any and all liability, including but not limited to, liability arising from the negligence or fault of the entities or persons released, for my death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft, or actions of any kind which may hereafter occur to me, THE FOLLOWING ENTITIES OR PERSONS: The directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, and agents of any and all entities authorizing this activity; (B) INDEMNIFY, HOLD HARMLESS, AND PROMISE NOT TO SUE the entities or persons mentioned in this paragraph from any and all liabilities or claims made as a result of participation in this activity, whether caused by the negligence of release or otherwise. I acknowledge that the directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, and agents of any authorizing entity are NOT responsible for the errors, omissions, acts, or failures to act of any party or entity conducting a specific activity on their behalf. I hereby consent to receive medical treatment which may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident, and/or illness during this activity. I agree that Bilingue Homeschoolers or any of its assign's has the right to any photos or any video/sound footage of me during the event. These photos, video footage and sound materials may be used for any marketing purposes. The Accident Waiver and Release of Liability Form shall be construed broadly to provide a release and waiver to the maximum extent permissible under applicable law. I CERTIFY THAT I HAVE READ THIS DOCUMENT AND I FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENT. I AM AWARE THAT THIS IS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND A CONTRACT AND I SIGN IT OF MY OWN FREE WILL.
