We are excited to announce the start of CCPS 101 Citizens Academy, an exciting new community engagement program geared toward providing general and in-depth overviews of everything education in Chesterfield County Public Schools.
Nearly 45,000 households entrust their most precious possessions – more than 60,000 children – to us daily. The reputation of our schools often inspires families to make their homes in Chesterfield County. As we implement our new strategic plan, Imagine Tomorrow, Team Chesterfield is on the cusp of creating classrooms of the future that will allow our students to soar to even greater heights. Imagine Tomorrow is more than a strategic plan. It’s our daily focus as we seek to create an infinite learner mindset while encouraging students and staff to exemplify personal responsibility and supportive relationships.
The first academy will feature 25 participants, five residents from each of the county's magisterial districts, and will culminate with a graduation event at the May School Board meeting. A committee consisting of school staff will select applicants to participate in the CCPS 101 program. Applicants will be notified regarding acceptance into the program by October 7. The first CCPS 101 session will be held on Thursday, October 17 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the School Board Administration Building, located at 9900 Krause Road.
CCPS 101 is a free program thanks to the generosity of community partners. However, participants are expected to attend each of the monthly sessions in its entirety. Please carefully consider your ability to commit to this program. Each session will cover different topics and there will be no opportunities to make up missed sessions. All sessions will be held from 6-8 p.m. on the following dates:
