The Houston Food Bank is a non-profit organization that collects and distributes food to hunger relief charities. Food usually comes from various sources in the food industry, like grocery stores and wholesalers, that have thousands of pounds of food to give away – food that could otherwise be thrown away.
As volunteers, most of the tasks in the warehouse consist of checking, sorting, and repackaging food to be distributed into the community.
Volunteers will meet at the front desk in Student Center South at 12:20 pm, carpool to the site at 12:40PM, and arrive at 1:00 PM. After the event, volunteers will return to campus and be back by 4:15 PM.
You'll receive a reminder email prior to the event containing more information, and if you have any questions, please contact Melyssa Navarro at
