TAMIL FEASTS - Hospitality Training & Work Program
CERES Tamil Feasts is a social enterprise where 3 times a week traditional Sri Lankan feasts are prepared by four Tamil men currently seeking asylum in Australia.

We have an opportunity for refugees and asylum seekers to participate in an hospitality training and work program from August 7th - December 14th 2019*.

The Training & Work Program includes:
> Kitchen Food Safety and OH&S
> Sustainable Food Systems
> How to Start a Food Business
> Cooking Skills
> Sri Lankan Cooking
> Working in the Industry - Catering, Markets & Restaurants
> Learning from Business Mentors and Chefs
> Getting Ready for Work
> Paid Work Experience - Taking your food to Market
> Graduation - Preparing and hosting a Celebration Feast

Commitment and Timing:
Training runs over 9 sessions - Wednesday 7th August - Wednesday 2nd October - 1 - 5pm
Paid Work Experience** shifts on Friday and Saturdays (rotating roster for participants) September - December.
Each participant will participate in to 2 - 3 Friday and Saturday shifts of work experience completing food preparation and taking their food to markets.

Cost: Free for Eligible Participants

*Open to refugees and asylum seekers, priority placement to the Tamil Community
**For paid work experience participants need rights to work in Australia
