Interested in learning more about science policy? Join the Yale Student Science Diplomats for a virtual series on April 24th-27th from 4-5PM each day, including an intro session and three incredible panels featuring scientists currently working in policy. We will also have an in-person networking hour on Friday, April 28th from 3:30-4:30 PM at the New Haven Library (Ives Branch). Come to all or just one of the sessions, and bring your questions!

Virtual Series
Monday, April 24th [Science Policy Introduction]: A general information session led by the Yale Student Science Diplomats on what science policy is, how to become involved, and potential career paths.
Tuesday, April 25th [Government Careers Q&A Panel]: A panel focused on federal government science policy roles, featuring Dr. Anneke Claypool, a AAAS Fellow at the NIAID, Dr. Matthew Diasio, a Science and Policy Innovation Advisor at the British Embassy in Washington DC, and Dr. James Yan, a Chemist and Environmental Protection Specialist at the EPA.
Wednesday, April 26th [NGO Careers Q&A Panel]: A panel focused on non-governmental organizational roles, featuring Dr. Sophia Kaska at Research!America, Dr. Natasha Vidangos at the Environmental Defense Fund, and Patricia Gruver from the National Science Policy Network.
Thursday, April 27th [Connecticut Policy Careers Q&A Panel]: A panel focused on Connecticut-based policy careers, featuring Dr. Ayesha Clarke from Health Equity Solutions, Representative Patricia Dillon, current Majority Leader in the CT House of Representatives, and Mr. Alex Rodriguez from Save the Sound.
In-Person Networking/Meet-and-Greet Session
Friday, April 28th [New Haven Public Library]
We are hosting an in-person networking/meet-and-greet hour so that attendees can meet each other and network with professionals working in the policy space in Connecticut. This event will be from ~3:30-4:30 PM at the New Haven Ives Library Community Room (133 Elm St, New Haven, CT 06510). Food and drink will be provided.
