orkshop is designed for those who have a completed research project and would like to share those results in an academic journal. Converting dissertations to a manuscript suitable for submission to an academic journal is better addressed in the Dissertation to Publication Workshop, also offered by the College of Doctoral Studies. The Research to Publication Workshop enables participants to collaborate effectively with peers and experts via synchronous and asynchronous methods for engaging learning. We are committed to modeling best practices in online learning in our workshop. Toward that end, our workshops utilize numerous proven teaching strategies and learning activities that will enable participants to understand the process of transforming their dissertation into a manuscript that can be submitted to a peer reviewed journal for publication.
Workshop Commitment
We want each of our workshop participants to have the best possible experience during the workshop. There are certain times when taking on a new responsibility is a good time or not so good time. To evaluate whether or not this is the best time for you to enroll in this specific session of the Research to Publication Workshop, please consider the following two points of information.
1. The workshop requires approximately 5-7 hours per week to spend on developing the manuscript to submit for publication.
2. There are six synchronous meetings over the six week workshop that last for an hour. These meetings take place online from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm Eastern Time Zone.
