As Istanbul&I's Volunteer Projects Team, we are looking for managers to lead a team of volunteers dedicated to animal rights. The current state of the program includes going to the Yedikule Animal Shelter every week (one week on Fridays, one week on Saturdays). However, we are planning to enlarge the scope of the project and create a larger team to advocate for animal rights within the Istanbul&I Community and in Istanbul. We need people like you to build on the idea, so apply if you are passionate about animal welfare!
Current Responsibilities:
- Organizing bi-weekly volunteering sessions at the Yedikule Animal Shelter
- Finding at least 3 volunteers at least 3 days before the session using the Telegram group
- Letting volunteers know what they will face and what they need to bring
- Being present at the shelter with the volunteers
- Getting in contact with the manager of the shelter if needed
- Staying in contact with co-manager regularly so they are fully aware of the state of the project
Future Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Volunteer Projects Coordinator
- Leading a team of volunteers dedicated to advocating for animal rights
- Organizing events to raise awareness on animal rights
- Working on writing projects to get funding to enlarge the project with the I&I Volunteer Projects Team
- Representing the animal rights advocation of Istanbul&I
Needed skills:
- Passionate about animal rights
- Motivated to write project proposals and organize events related to animal rights
- Comfortable managing a group of people
- Comfortable guiding and managing a potential crisis or problem
- Likes teamwork
- Has good communication skills
- Has good time management
Project managers are also responsible for communicating with the Volunteer Projects Coordinator (Elif), HR Coordinator (Taha), the Executive Coordinator (Chand), the rest of the Board, and the larger I&I Community.
