Application for The Carpentries Code of Conduct Committee
The Carpentries are committed to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, both at in-person events and on our online spaces. Our Code of Conduct (CoC) outlines the behavior we expect from our community members.

To help ensure that this policy is consistently communicated and enforced, we are recruiting volunteers for the Code of Conduct Committee. Members of this committee will be responsible for serving as advocates for the CoC, adjudicating reported CoC violations, and developing and enforcing related policy as needed.

If you are interested in being a part of the Code of Conduct Committee, please use this form to tell us about yourself, your involvement with The Carpentries, and what valuable skills and perspectives you would bring to this committee.

We are collecting and processing personal data collected with this form in accordance with our Privacy Policy; https://docs.carpentries.org/topic_folders/policies/privacy.html.

In addition to a business meeting once every two months (i.e. six times per year), the CoCC must respond to incident reports in a timely fashion. Handling an incident requires three members and usually 2-4 one hour meetings within one week of the incident report. We anticipate each CoCC member will participate in 1-3 incident response teams per year. With CoCC members around the world, all meetings can be outside regular business hours for some members. *
Required
Code of Conduct meetings require that all attendees attend via zoom from a private location where the conversation cannot be overheard by others. Do you have access to a private location for meetings? *
If there is anything else you would like us to know about you and your interest in being a part of the Code of Conduct Committee, please discuss here.
