Hello Authors,
We're excited to have you join the Longview Public Library's Columbia River Author Festival on May 6, 2023 from 10 AM - 4 PM.
The festival is an opportunity for independently and self-published local authors to promote their books and for our community to learn about local books and meet area writers! Each participating author will have a table to sell and promote their book(s) and an opportunity to do a reading. Authors will be grouped in the library by the intended audience of their book(s) and we will have two stages - one for readings for young audiences and one for readings for older teen and adult audiences.
CRITERIA FOR AUTHOR REGISTRATION
1. This event is open to authors in Cowlitz County and surrounding areas in Southwest Washington and Northwest Oregon. There is no registration fee.
2. Participating authors should have one or more published works to promote. If your book is still in-process we look forward to having you participate in future years.
3. Authors will be responsible for processing their own sales. The Library will not have change or the ability to process payments.
4. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Authors will be notified if event is full by April 30, 2023.
5. Tables and chairs will be provided. Authors may bring their own table coverings, advertising, signs and small tabletop banners. More information about the location in the library and size of the table will be emailed out ahead of the event.
6. Festival hours are 10 AM to 4 PM. Authors will be allowed to set up their tables beginning at 9 AM and are expected to stay until the close of the festival at 4 PM.
7. Authors will cover all costs associated with travel, lodging, meals, shipping costs, sales, business licensing fees, tax remittance and any/all other costs associated with participating in the Columbia River Author Festival.
8. Authors are encouraged to promote their participation via social media platforms and other marketing strategies using the hashtag #lplcraf23
