April 25 Lecture: Ice on Fire: Can We Reverse Climate Change?

Presented by Staša Puškari, Environmental Science Professor, RIT Croatia Campus

Staša Puškari is researching a way to stave off the escalating global warming crisis. As featured in the HBO documentary Ice on Fire, his team is working to leverage marine snow, a shower of organic material falling from upper waters to the deep ocean, in order to reduce carbon in the Earth’s atmosphere. Marine snow acts as a biological pump effectively removing carbon from the living carbon cycle to nonliving, geological reservoirs.
