Student Application for AVID
AVID is an elective class offered to students who would like to prepare for four-year universities. The curriculum features writing, inquiry, collaboration, reading, note-taking, study skills, and college/career/motivational activities. College students serve as tutors and are in the classroom twice a week. Field trips are also taken to universities in the area to expose students to area universities and the opportunities they have to offer. Students must also commit to taking notes in subject-area classes on a daily basis.
