Supplemental Instruction Leader Request Form
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic support program that offers free regularly scheduled sessions for select courses. SI is geared toward improving academic performance and student retention. The program targets historically challenging courses with high rates of D, F, W grades. SI sessions are led by students who have previously taken the course and have demonstrated mastery in the subject area. They attend each class meeting and prepare structured supplemental sessions to review the material covered in that class.

The Supplemental Instructions (SI) program held its inaugural year at NYIT in the 2009-2010 academic year. The program is housed under the Office of Academic Success & Enrichment (ASE), which coordinates the hiring, scheduling, fund allocation, and supervision of all Supplemental Instruction Leaders. If you have any questions regarding the program please e-mail us at si@nyit.edu.
