Platform Artspace Event Application
ABOUT
Platform Artspace is an outdoor exhibition space in Department of Art Practice at the University of California, Berkeley. Platform Artspace features 3700 square foot of space in a sunny environment, and it is ideal for outdoor gatherings Spring through Fall. All guests are expected to use the space responsibly and respectfully.

FEES
Platform is self-sustained, with no annual budget, so we rely on income generated from renting the space to support programming. By renting Platform, you are contributing to: keeping the space green, employing student workers, purchasing and maintaining equipment, janitorial fees, and helping provide free food and art programs to students in need. It's not just a space rental; you are helping a community thrive!

SPACE FEE: $1000 (includes 10 tables, 20 chairs, shaded seating, two catering tables, and one student worker). Platform also orders the alcohol permit if needed. 

STUDENT WORKER: You should have one student worker per 30 guests. Fee is $100 for each additional student worker. Students arrive early and set up event, decorate, help serve drinks and maintain food tables, assist in general party needs, and clean up. With enough notice, they can DJ or run an art demo for you. 

SPECIAL REQUESTS: Platform supports a variety of programs that are designed to give underrepresented students a place to belong and thrive. If your student group would like to use Platform, but the fees are too high, please ask for discount or fee waiver in the questions below.

Fee reduction or waivers: If you are a student organization that lacks sufficient funding to rent Platform Artspace, please explain your situation. Please make a case for your fee waiver. Let us know what you can afford, and we will try to work with you. Note: student workers are mandatory and cannot be waived.
