Why am I so 'up and down'?
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder can leave us feeling like we are going crazy! One minute we can be 'hyper', feeling good, taking on the world, helping everyone, booking out the diary and so on... The next we are 'down', feeling depressed, low mood, isolated and just wanting to be alone.

These episodes can be very confusing, they can also be episodes or 'anger' or 'emotional numbing'.

The common reactions of PTSD can include:

Fear and Anxiety
Flashbacks, Nightmares and Intrusive Thoughts
Feeling Agitated, Frustrated, Restless and Trouble Sleeping
Feeling Numb, Disassociated, Isolated and Disconnected from the World
Guilt and Shame
Depression and Grief
Low Self Esteem, Lacking Self Confidence, Negative Thoughts and Feelings
Relationships can be Intense, Difficult, Emotional Detached or feeling Detached

The list of common reactions is not exhaustive, and can be very confusing for sufferers to know if it is Depression, Biplor Disorder, ADHD, Anger Issues, or PTSD.
