Hybrid Performance is gaining huge traction in mainstream as well as alternative productions. OOT is offering you the chance to stay ahead of the curve with your performance practice and be part of the development and innovation of this growing sector.
The upcoming OOT Artist Residency is an opportunity to up-skill in creating performances using VR, AR and multi-camera live streaming. If you’re a motivated performing artist (dance, theatre, live art, circus, comedy) interested in learning how to creatively incorporate digital innovations we need to hear from you now.
The residency also offers the opportunity to be selected for a paid slot in OOTFest22, festival of hybrid performing arts streamed from Rich Mix Nov 25/26 2022
This opportunity is 90% subsidised and we require a £200 payment towards course costs.

Tues 4th: Streaming filming in VR, audience journey, prototyping techniques
Wed 5th: How to build an environment in the Mozilla Hub, working in the metaverse
Thurs 6th: Streaming tools overview
Fri 7th: Audience journey prototyping techniques
Self- practice residency dates (4 camera set up, operators and Oculus Quest,)
24th, 25th, 26th, 27th Oct

We strongly recommend full attendance for 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th Oct, however, let us know if you have issues with any of those days.
For the other dates, we’d love full attendance but you can get by with selecting days or part-days.
Mentorship
Throughout the residency you will have the chance to ask advice from, and discuss your ideas with, the course leaders/mentors: Joumana Mourad, Clémence de Baig and Robert Hall.
You will have up to 4 hours with Joumana, who will be leading on Sensography, plus 2 hours each with Clémence and Robert. These can be taken flexibly, as and when required.
Workshops and Co-creation Sessions
Throughout the residency, you have the opportunity to offer virtual or hybrid (physical and virtual) workshops and audience co-creation sessions on the Open Online Theatre (OOT) interactive live streaming platform. These are monetised: you will set the ticket price and earn the income, minus a small percentage for admin.
If you wish to offer any sessions we need the full info a minimum of 4 weeks in advance so we can help you promote them.

Contract and Payment
Once you accept your place, we will forward you a contract, which will inform you how to pay the required £200 towards course costs.
If you choose to take part in the residency, we will send you links to the software to download (free versions), and links to recommended reading.
