Poets Claudiu Komartin and Bengt Berg, pianist Anna Avramidou and actor Johan Fagerudd

Dedicated to: Hlib Babich. Poet and author of more than 500 poems and songs. Died in a mine detonation near Izyum, in the Kharkiv region, on July 29, 2022.

Poetry, with its unique ability to evoke strong images and emotions, has always been a powerful and obvious means of resistance. Ukrainian resistance expressed through poetry has a long history. It has provided comfort, inspiration and hope to those on the literal and figurative front lines. On Ukraine's western border, many Romanian poets have expressed solidarity for their neighboring country through their works. Claudiu Komartin is one of them. The national poetry tradition in Romania is so strong that there is even a saying that 'Romanians are born poets'. Here in Sweden, poet Bengt Berg published his anthology Under the Blue Sky of Ukraine shortly after the invasion in 2022. At this event we celebrate the international solidarity of poetic resistance together with Romanian poet Claudiu Komartin and Swedish poet Bengt Berg to the music of Cypriot pianist and rising star Anna Avramidou. Actor Johan Fagerudd will read the poems.
