Awakening Yoga Spaces: Partner School Coalition Application
Awakening Yoga Spaces (AYS) is a coalition of yoga and wellness communities across the U.S. and beyond, founded and led by the owners of PIES Fitness Yoga Studio and Sun & Moon Yoga Studio in Northern Virginia. The AYS coalition is committed to playing a role in rectifying historic and current disparities by making yoga teacher training programs accessible to those who have been historically under-represented and under-resourced.

For the program year beginning in the fall of 2024, we will award at least 12 grants or up to 24 partial grants to individuals for 200-hour, 500-hour, or Yoga Therapy Teacher Training.

Grant recipients will choose their program from among partner schools of yoga who have applied and been accepted by Awakening Yoga Spaces based on their commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and creating brave spaces within their communities. Grants will be paid directly to the yoga training school on behalf of the recipient.

Once grants are awarded, the recipients will be invited to participate in a mentorship support cohort to meet monthly (virtually) during their respective teacher training programs. The monthly, facilitated cohort meetings will be facilitated by AYS, and feature guest speakers from the BIPOC/wellness community to share conversations, insights, and wisdom in various topic areas, including but not limited to: self-care, marketing and social media, business savvy, techniques, training, practice; anatomy and physiology; yoga humanities; professional essentials.

**NOTE: The deadline for potential recipients apply for these grants is MARCH 15, 2024. The coalition partner school must have been approved by AYS by that time.**
