Dear Westran R-I Parent:
This letter is to provide information about the upcoming summer school program at Westran Elementary School. The program is for grades K-7 and will run from May 22 (off May 27) through June 12. The summer school will hold classes from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.. A breakfast and lunch program will be provided daily at no cost to students. Breakfast will be served from 7:40 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. and lunch from 11:45 a.m. until 12:05 p.m.
Transportation will be provided to those needing it. The buses will leave the bus garage at 6:30 a.m. and proceed to the northern part of our school district to begin picking up students at approximately 6:45 a.m. All students should be picked up by 7:30 a.m. Bus routes will be distributed when enrollment has been finalized.
Summer school will allow students to work with teachers in a small group setting to build on their knowledge base. Some students will use summer school as an opportunity to expand on technological skills and prepare for lifelong learning. For all students it will be a time to celebrate strengths and successes.
At this time we are gathering information to see how many students and/or parents would be interested in the summer school program. If you are interested in the program I would ask that you fill out the summer school enrollment form and return it to your child’s school by May 3, 2024. If you have any questions regarding the summer school program or this letter please contact one of the following individuals.
