Art x Activism Lab Application
Sponsored by CIVIC LAB AT GEORGETOWN DAY SCHOOL
Project Lead: Adrian Loving

Recognizing that artists have always played a role in the advancement of social change, the Art & Activism Lab is a two-week summer intensive designed to engage young artists/activists from across the DMV to bring their voice to the civic conversation. The Art & Activism Lab will feature site visits, visiting artists, and the opportunity to develop networks and partnerships with a range of arts organizations in Washington, DC, and beyond. For their culminating project, participants will work in small teams to develop creative campaigns, public and/or online art exhibitions, publications, or other forms of media that connect the arts to social justice issues, aiming to create a public artifact that lives beyond the summer experience and serves as a calling card for other young creatives who want to have a social impact.

The pilot cohort for the Art x Activism Lab will be capped at 10, and participants will include GDS and non-GDS students. To be considered as a Project Lab Fellow for the summer of 2022, please indicate your interest by completing this application by April 25, 2022. Upon selection, participants will be notified about program updates leading up to the Project Lab summer session.
