FEMMESHacks is a one-day hackathon-inspired event for high school girls. Our goal is to inspire female participation in CS and tech. Participants will have the opportunity to follow workshop “tracks” and learn about various computer science topics, including: Java, Python, Web Dev, Data Vis, and UI/UX. The event will also feature presentations from speakers and panelists. We rely on the support of volunteers to make this happen!

As a volunteer, your role will be facilitating each workshop “track” and helping participants work through any problems or questions. The time commitment is flexible, ranging from an hour to the entire day; we hope that this can work around your schedule. This form is a preliminary interest form so that we can follow up with applications for FEMMESHacks 2020.

This year, due to COVID-19, the event will be held online during the day on Saturday, October 24th. It is a full day event and there are many opportunities to virtually volunteer throughout the day.

There are a lot of ways to be involved. Do you have any preference for a specific position within the event? (Workshop Lead: In charge of one of the workshops. You will be providing instruction and then continuing to help the participants through any technical difficulties or with any questions. Workshop Volunteer: Involved with one of the workshops.
