AP PHYSICS 1 DESCRIPTION

2 trimester course
Instructor: Mr. Jones Grade Level: 11-12
Prerequisite: Physics A, Physics B, AND Physics teacher recommendation

AP Physics 1 is designed to be the equivalent of an introductory first semester math-based college freshmen course in Physics. Units of study include mechanics, momentum, energy, circular motion, gravitational forces, oscillations and mechanical waves, and electric circuits. The ultimate goal of the course is to prepare students to be successful on the AP Physics 1 exam at the end of the year.

Students are accepted into AP Physics 1 based on:
1. Upperclassmen will be given priority consideration
2. Physics grades second consideration
