Level 1 Endorsement is the first in a 4-Level training sequence of Paul Rolland String Pedagogy. In the Level 1 course, participants receive an overview of 17 chapters in The Teaching of Action in String Playing by Paul Rolland, and they view all of the films created by Rolland that are associated with those chapters. Topics include everything from instrument set up, to principles of left-hand action, to advanced bowing techniques. Our most popular sessions include how to incorporate whole body action into teaching and playing, steps in teaching vibrato, and shifting for early beginners. The pedagogy is designed to be used by teachers and performers in individual, small group, and large group classes, including public/private school and studio settings.
