Housing Justice: Housing justice is tied directly to racial, economic, and disability justice. When people are deprived of their right to safe housing free from discrimination, that hurts our community. WSCO is invested in housing justice to improve quality of life for all West Siders.

Land use and development / Equitable Development Scorecard: As our community grows and changes, the scorecard gives us, West Siders, a say in new projects. That way, building by building, block by block, we can create a neighborhood that fits our vision, values, and priorities — now, and for future generations. By using the scorecard, we proactively impact development in OUR neighborhoods to benefit US!

Health and Environmental Justice: At WSCO, we respond to day-to-day environmental and health concerns impacting our community – but we also go beyond that to demand systems change. By looking at the big picture, together, we can be the architects of the safe, healthy, and just future we deserve.

The Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color table: The BIWOC table is a sacred, healing space for people who identify as women and with Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color communities. Our intention is to be a sacred, healing space to build community, develop leadership, and organize around the things we care about.

The Men of Color table: The Men of Color table is a supported, intentional space where men can be vulnerable; unpack masculinity, misogyny, and trauma; and build relationships among men of color on the West Side. This space is open to any person who identifies as a man of color, whether you are trans or cis.

Life-affirming public safety / police accountability and reform: For years, WSCO has created spaces for community members to speak out on issues of community safety. Because we value and prioritize community knowledge and expertise to share concerns, create solutions, and build capacity for care-based interventions to crisis, we’re committed to continue hosting community conversations where we envision public safety strategies that affirm our lives, our families, our communities, and our dreams.

Voter Engagement on the West Side: Through the West Side 100 initiative, we organize our neighbors for 100% voter participation on the West Side. Our votes are our voices and our power.
