We are super excited to have you sign up as a mentor for the WAAW Foundation Mentoring Program for Scholarship recipients. The aim of this Mentorship Program is to help guide college African's girls through their academic pursuits and put them on a professional career path.

Mentors are as essential to our scholars as the financial assistance we provide. Each scholarship recipient is paired with a qualified mentor to help the student stay on track and reach successive goals. A mentor will be connected with a scholar twice (July and September) in a scholarship year to provide guidance for their academics and professional career, this is to enable you to have one-on-one interaction with the scholars.

Before becoming a mentor, here are a few things to understand about the role of our mentoring program and some basic qualities:

1. A sincere desire to be involved with a young girl
2. Respect for young people
3. Active listening skills
4. Desire to share knowledge and expertise
5. Empathy
6. Ability to see solutions and opportunities
7. Flexibility
