Followed by an optional potluck with full moon bonfire and grief ritual

At Respite in the Round, a healing space in rural North Carolina about 40 minutes north of Durham

Enjoy a day of somatic and reflective practices, community connection, yoga, meditative movement, and nature bathing while exploring your relationship to the natural world, to yourself and to community.

Investment: $75 full day including lunch / $55 half day (morning plus lunch or afternoon plus lunch)
Sliding scale by request

  • Your investment covers the cost of programming plus snacks and lunch
  • Specialty coffee and tea bar available in the morning, by donation; see menu below.
  • Accepted payment methods: Venmo, PayPal, Square (credit/debit)
  • Feel free to stay and camp at no additional cost.

Optional potluck dinner with full moon bonfire and grief ritual at dusk.

This space is about connecting with community and nature, embodied practice, rest and nourishment, ritual

Here are some items that I suggest you bring to make the most of our time together.
  • Hat and layers to protect yourself as we'll be outside all day.
  • Blanket / sheet and yoga mat; yoga props if you desire. (extra mats available)
  • Journal and pen
  • Chair
  • Water bottle; mug for tea or coffee if you like.
More about me:
  • I'm Patty Adams (she/her), a licensed therapist trained in Somatic Experiencing along with modalities like yoga, mindfulness, and Ayurveda. Credentials: MSW, LCSW, E-RYT 200, SEP (coming soon!)
  • I have decades of experience working in social movements at the intersections of healing and justice.
  • I'm based in Durham, NC - the lands of the Occoneechee, Saponi, Eno and Skakori peoples
  • I am a fat, cis, white queer woman struggling to survive in a capitalist, white supremacist, ableist, patriarchal and cishet world!

Accessibility Info
  • The venue is only accessible by private car, not by any form of public transport.
  • The venue includes uneven terrain such as gravel driveways, earthen paths, and terrain covered in mulch and debris.
  • While some of the areas are accessible with minimal walking and no steps, other areas require walking up or down a sloped wooded path that is not paved.
  • No wheelchair accessible bathroom facilities are available.
