The Screenwriting Club, presented by Purple Pencil Project and led by Siddhant Makkar, is a community project for screen writers to come together, engage with, and discuss their favourite screenplays.
The group meets once a month in Mumbai. For each meeting, a screenplay will be chosen in advance which you must read and come. Make notes, break scenes down, come ready to discuss the elements of the screenplay. What makes it work? What does not work? Does the writing adhere to or subvert its genre norms? Bring your thoughts and opinions to share with the group. The idea is to read screenplays closely, and in the process develop your own craft as a writer and storyteller. The discussions will be unmoderated and free flowing.
If you are interested, sign up using this form. We will personally email you with details of each meeting, along with the screenplay that you must read, and access to it.
