School Bus Rider Information
Eligible Bus Riders

Transportation registration is required for the 2023-2024 school year.

In accordance with Board Policy EEA elementary students (grades K-5) who live more than one mile from school are eligible for school bus transportation. Secondary students (grades 6-12) who live more than one and one-half miles from school are eligible for school bus transportation.

Bus Stop Assignment

Each eligible bus rider may be assigned a school bus stop for both pickup and drop off. The two stops could be at different locations.

Alternate Address for Pickup / Drop Off (daycare, relative, work, etc.)

Your student may be served at an alternate pickup and/or drop off address if:
1. Your student’s primary residence is eligible for transportation, AND
2. The alternate address is in an area eligible for school bus transportation.

If both of these conditions are not true, your student may still be eligible for the requested service at the alternate address depending on available seating on the bus serving the alternate location. Your student must have the same transportation schedule and bus stop location each day of the week.

Rules for Riding the School Bus

Riding the school bus is a privilege. Riders must follow all the rules described in district policy EEACC, Student Conduct on School Buses. This policy is available at your student’s school or on the Internet at: http://policy.osba.org/creswell/E/EEACC%20D1.PDF.

Additional Transportation Information

1. Only authorized riders may ride the bus. Authorized riders may not invite others to ride the bus with them.
2. If there are students who want to ride the bus, are eligible, and not registered for transportation services, a paper copy of the registration form will be sent home with the student or the parent/guardian will be directed to this online registration form. Once the registration form has been received and approved by Transportation staff, the student will then be permitted to ride the bus.

Special Note for Parents of K-5th Grade Students

Please specify whether your student may be dropped at their assigned stop without a responsible adult present. In the case that an adult is not present and you have specified that one must be, your student will be returned to school and you will be notified. A space is provided in the online form for you to list any adults who are authorized to meet your student at their assigned stop.
