Bookkeeper

Purpose:
Manage, maintain and operate the Calvin Crest online and retail store. Support the outdoor education program, summer camp program, and guest groups by managing camper’s accounts and providing merchandise that is attractive and represents Calvin Crest appropriately. Maintain a profitable Store and Café in order to sustain the mission. Serve as an ambassador for Calvin Crest by promoting the vision, mission and values to all guests.

Responsibilities:
1 Work with the Executive Director to manage, maintain, and staff the Calvin Crest Stores and Café
2 Work with the DIrector of Food and Retail Services to order products to be sold in the Café
3 Maintain accurate inventory and ensure the Store and Café are appropriately stocked
4. Coordinate Store and Café hours with program or guest needs
5. Follow budget and sales goals in order to achieve profitability
6. Work with and oversee summer store clerks in Store
7. Participate in summer camp and outdoor education registration to collect Store and Café deposits
8. Prepare Store deposit refunds for camper checkout
9. Promptly deposit and track cash, checks, and charges, working with Bookkeeper to implement and follow all proper accounting procedures and internal controls
10. Prepare monthly, annual or other financial reports as required
11. Keep all vendor files, payment records, tax records, and any other information related to Calvin Crest’s financial, operating or administrative records properly filed and secure
12. Review and revise Calvin Crest’s store policies and procedures with the Executive Director
13. Assist with other financial or office tasks as requested
14. Assist with summer camp registration Sundays (6 weeks June-July)
15. Complete administrative responsibilities as assigned
16. Actively participate in staff meetings and initiatives; follow all organizational policies and procedures
17. Maintain the Christian focus of Calvin Crest, building the positive influence of the mission/ministry
18. Perform any additional duties as needed or reassigned in the spirit of cooperation and teamwork required by all members of the Calvin Crest staff to insure the mission/ministry objectives are met;

Normal working hours are as needed: weekdays, evenings, and weekends year round, with additional responsibilities (supervision) during the summer program

Qualifications:
High School degree or equivalent
College degree preferred but not required
Previous experience or familiarity with Calvin Crest preferred
Experienced and ability to use a computer, including Google Suite, P.O.S., Internet, and email
Able to be on one's feet for 8 hours a day
Able to lift object weighing up to fifty pounds
Able to drive a variety of vehicles
Ability to work without direct, constant supervision, maintaining accountability
Demonstrates creativity, proactivity in problem solving, and a positive attitude
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, one on one or in a group setting
Desire to continue to grow and accept more organizational responsibility
Able to serve diverse cultures and socio-economic groups so that all feel accepted and included
