Join the EAC for a 30-minute talk on “What is Two-Spirit and trans justice?” with First Nations Cree scholar and community organizer Harlan Pruden. This is the 2nd part of a 2-part series on “What is Two-Spirit, trans, non-binary and intersex justice?” geared around helping faculty, staff and other campus members understand how to better support Two-Spirit, trans, nonbinary, intersex and gender-expansive students and colleagues. We will be recording this talk.

This workshop is geared toward instructors and staff across the campus to discuss challenging situations which may come up in the classroom and/or on campus around gender identity and to strategize about the best ways to support Two-Spirit, trans, non-binary, intersex and gender-expansive campus members. Participants will work through case studies with guest facilitator, Harlan Pruden

Harlan Pruden (nēhiyo/First Nations Cree Nation), works with and for the Two-Spirit community locally, nationally and internationally. Currently, Harlan is the Indigenous Knowledge Translation Lead at Chee Mamuk, an Indigenous health program at BC Centre for Disease Control, and is also a co-founder of the Two-Spirit Dry Lab, North America’s first research group/lab that exclusively focuses on Two-Spirit people, communities and/or experiences.
