Pride Adopt-A-Shop for Wilton Businesses 

Thank you for your interest in our Pride Adopt-A-Shop Program.  The program is open to all Wilton Businesses.

What it is: 

Wilton Pride and the Wilton Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring this town-wide initiative to bring the community together with our businesses in celebrating Pride month in our storefronts and streets. 

Much like holiday window painting and Wilton’s Scarecrow Fest, the program invites community groups to sign-up to decorate/design Pride-themed displays for our participating local businesses. 

Our goal is to bring our town together in a fun, creative way and celebrate diversity by showcasing stunning displays that captivate every Wiltonian, highlighting Wilton's inclusive and welcoming nature.

How it works:

  • Participation in this event is free of charge. 

  • If you’d like to participate fill in the form below by April 30th 2024

  • Let us know what you want to decorate (store-front, window display, end-cap, wall, etc.). We ask that whatever display you decide to do stay up for the entire month of June for Pride Month. 

  • The week of May 6th you will receive contact info for the group you are assigned. The key here is to collaborate with your assigned community decorators to get a vision and a plan for the store window. See guidelines below (and note below if you have any special requests or considerations you'd like us to be aware of.

  • Look for details on an Adopt-A-Shop Meet-up date TBC for business owners and community decorators to get together for brainstorming and inspiration!

  •  We've asked that all Pride displays be completed by end of day Friday May 24th. PLEASE NO EXCEPTIONS.

Storefront decorations can include:

  • Pride and Progress Flags 

  • Store merchandise that represents progress and pride colors 

  • Temporary window paint in rainbow & progress colors 

  • Props in rainbow and progress colors 

  • Guidelines to storefront design  

  • Inspiration Board

  • Simple DIY options 

  • Decorations may not include inappropriate and offensive language & images. Anything that is not agreed to in advance by you, the business owner, and/or Wilton Pride.  

Promotion:

  • Participating businesses will be listed on our website
  • Wilton Pride and the Wilton Chamber will feature posting using #wiltonpride via their appropriate social channels
  • Participating businesses will be featured at the Pride Town stroll and Scavenger Hunt on June 1
