*Video Submissions Will Replace Auditions This Year*
In order to apply for the TV Crew, you must meet the following requirements:
o A & B average in all classes
o No referrals or other discipline problems
o No excessive absences
o Excellent writing, grammar, and public speaking skills
o Proficient in technology use
o Reading at grade level
o Experience creating and editing video
o Must be on campus by 7:00 AM at least one day a week
Some other things to consider:
* TV Crew members are leaders! Your behavior should be exemplary in and out of the TV studio. You are expected to be a role model wherever you are.
* TV Crew members are expected to be high achievers. If you are failing or falling behind in your classes, you may temporarily or permanently lose your position.
* This is your job and you will receive a grade. You will be expected to do what is asked of you each day. All positions in the studio are important and each task needs to be done to the best of your ability.
Examples of what we will be learning and doing:
1.Producing news stories and commercials about events going on at Causey
2.Reading from a teleprompter
3.Operating sound board/mixer/audio
4.Using a video camera and running the teleprompter
5.Preparing the news for the next day
6.Shooting video around campus
7.Creating and editing for broadcasts with Adobe Premiere
8.Keeping the studio neat and organized
Video Auditions:
Students may send their videos via email to
srbrooks@mcpss.com. If the file is too large, it can be shared via the OneDrive to
srbrooks@mcpss.com.
I will send a confirmation once your video has been received.
**Students are not guaranteed a spot in the class. Once in the class, students may be dismissed if grades or behavior are reported as a problem.**
