Classifications
Bands entering the contest will be divided into four classifications. Classification will be according to the number of wind and percussion players in the unit.
Critique
Directors and staff will have the opportunity to meet with our judging panel and receive one-on-one critique. This will take place between Prelims and Finals.
Scoring System (8 judge panel)
We are using Tennessee Bandmasters Association Evaluation System

Sheets, rubrics, and scoring method can be found at the TBA website: http://tennesseebandmasters.org/marching-band/

The three (3) music captions receive 200 points each. The Visual Performance Individual and the Visual Performance Ensemble scores average for a possible 200 points and the Visual Effect caption receives the final 200 points. The final score is achieved by multiplying the total points earned (1000 possible) by 0.10.

Please note according to the TBA system, Percussion & Color guard scores DO NOT factor into the overall score.

Overall score ties will be broken by sum of the Percussion and Color Guard scores. Ties not broken by this method will remain ties.
Finals Selection and Competition
There will be a total of ten bands selected for finals competition.

Each class winner, plus the next 6 highest prelims scores advance to finals.
