The OG Band Boosters aims to provide financial assistance to our band students while ensuring the financial solvency of our band program as a whole. Financial assistance can be awarded for the "fair share" dues associated with our Marching Band program.
1. Financial aid is limited. Any requests for financial aid should be made during program registration, or as soon as practicable. If a financial hardship arises after program registration, requests may be submitted no later than September of the current school year.
2. Applicant must disclose financial need with band director and/or a booster board member. Any family needing financial aid, or an alternate payment arrangement must discuss their need with either the band director and or one of the band booster board members.
3. Financial aid is awarded towards fair share obligations only. Additional fees such as fundraising buy-out, additional band shirts, and the school owned instrument fee (for students that play school owned instruments) are not eligible for financial aid.
4. You must agree to fulfill the Volunteer Activities portion of the "fair share" dues commitment. Every family has the opportunity to reduce the amount they pay towards their "fair share" dues obligation. Volunteering for the required 5 shifts (including one shift at Dewey's) not only satisfies the service commitment but also reduces your "fair share" dues obligation by $100. Kind of like getting paid to volunteer through a reduction in dues amounts.
5. Financial aid requests are handled in confidence. The Band Director and the Band Booster Board will review your financial aid application. Financial aid decisions will be communicated to the parent/s within 30 days of the program registration deadline or within 30 days of receipt of your request if not completed before registration.
6. Please communicate any financial changes or difficulties to the Band Booster Board or Band Director/s. The Band Booster Board are happy to discreetly discuss your individual situation and come up with a solution that fits your family. Financial hardship should not be a barrier to band participation!
