4/18/20 NYSAIS Sustainability Through Student Voices Proposal Form
Please share your great idea for a workshop at the 5th annual Sustainability Through Student Voices Conference! Our theme this year is Advocacy, Activism, and Innovation on the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, and we will be discussing how far we've come, and where we need to work towards. The conference will be at The Town School on Saturday, April 18, 2020.

Learn more about the conference at: http://www.studentvoicesnyc.org/

This exciting event was attended by more than 180 people representing nearly thirty different schools last year. The conference brings together students, teachers, administrators, trustees, and parents to build the foundations necessary to implement systemic changes around the critical issues of sustainability.

The day consists of a keynote speaker, workshop sessions, and lunch. Workshops at the conference are given by students, educators, activists, and representatives from a variety of nonprofit organizations. Each workshop is about 45 minutes in length.

We are particularly interested in workshops that help to push the conversation past “being green”, that embrace a holistic definition of sustainability that recognizes the interconnection between environmental stewardship, social justice, and economic equity. We welcome workshops that recognize the importance of educating for sustainability at every age level.

Finally, we are working to make our conference zero-waste, so please consider that goal in your supplies or handouts.
