Terms of Service
The commissioner is defined as the recipient of the commissioned work and the artist is defined as the creator of the work.
The commissioner's completed commission is for personal use only. Commercial work and licensing must be discussed upfront.
The artist retain all rights to the completed work, including, but not limited to, promotional use and distribution. The commission will be licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International license. The commissioner may request that the work be licensed under other Creative Commons non-commercial licenses.
30% of your payment is due before any work is begun, and the final 70% is due near completion of the finished work. The final full resolution work will not be sent over until full payment is complete. Upon full payment, the final work will be delivered at 300 dpi unless otherwise requested prior to beginning work.
The artist has the right to cancel the commission at any time for any reason. Should the artist choose to cancel the commission, a full or partial refund, depending on the amount of work completed, may be sent by the artist's discretion.
If the commissioner cancels the commission before paying any amount of money, no work will be done and the commissioner will owe nothing. If the commissioner cancels the commission after work has begun but before the artist has made significant progress as per the artist's discretion, the artist may send the commissioner a partial or a full refund.
While work is in progress, the commissioner may request changes to the work for no additional charge, as long as it does not require restarting the project from scratch as per the artist's discretion. Should the commissioner request the work to be redone or a change to the work that results in a redo of the work as per the artist's discretion, the commissioner will be billed for a separate project.
After completion of the commissioner's commission, the artist will not make any major changes to the work for free. Only minor changes may be completed free of charge. The definition of a minor change and the definition of a major change are up to the discretion of the artist.
The artist will communicate with the commissioner as often as the artist deems necessary in order to successfully complete the commission.
The commissioner's completed commission may be uploaded to other profiles as long as the artist's username, Guardiavoir, is shown conspicuously alongside a link to the artist's Tumblr blog, DeviantArt account, Instagram account, or Carrd site.
