Thanks to Beverly Crilly who stepped up to help organize - we are hosting the Yarn Bomb again this year!
Our kick-off meeting was held on Zoom on Wed August 10, 2022 at 6pm. Filling out this interest form will help us keep in contact with you.
In-person crafting sessions will begin on Wednesday August 24 from 5-7pm at the Old Stone House garden, and will continue weekly on Wednesday evenings. Like previous years, you are welcome to work at home and contribute in any way you can!
We are exploring ideas for a theme or common organizing element for this year's yarn bomb, so please share your ideas below and/or at the Zoom meeting. The installation is set for the weekend of October 1st/2nd, so that it will be in place for the Kings County Fiber Festival on October 8, the Arts Gowanus Open Studios weekend (Oct 15-16) and during the NYC Marathon. We are looking for artists, crafters, volunteers and others (local businesses and nonprofit organizations) to help make this a success!
The 4th Ave Yarn Bomb is a fun, socially-distanced activity to celebrate art and community on 4th Ave in Park Slope and Gowanus. This is a community collaboration is organized by The Old Stone House, Arts Gowanus, Why Not Art and Forth on Fourth Avenue (FOFA).
Please let us know if you can participate and share contact info here so we can be in touch.
PLEASE share this form with any knitting/crocheting/fiber arts friends and groups you belong to. The yarn bomb is free and open to all! We would love to include a wide range of people in the project!
