Queer African Studies Association Prize for Best Published Essay Nomination Form
The Queer African Studies Association, coordinate organization of the US-based African Studies Association, has created two prizes.

The Queer African Studies Association Prize for Best Published Scholarly Essay by a Graduate Student
The Queer African Studies Association Prize for Best Published Scholarly Essay by a Junior Scholar

These prizes are for the best scholarly essays published in the field of queer African studies in the previous calendar year by a junior scholar. Prizes are a vital part of helping scholars in new fields garner jobs and tenure. The award winners will be announced at the annual African Studies Association conference every November.

Please use this form to nominate essays for this prize.

Who can nominate?
* Anyone can nominate an article for this prize. We encourage junior scholars to nominate their own work.

What work is eligible for nomination?
* Scholarly essays, journal articles, and chapters in an edited volume (not chapters of a single-authored book)

* published in a scholarly publication (broadly defined, including peer-reviewed journals and university press books but not limited to them)
