Mask distribution or reinforcement

We need partners that can mobilize people in the field to deliver masks, explain the correct way to wear them, and why it's important to do so. We also need people to monitor areas of high circulation and remind people to wear masks correctly when they fail to do so. This is a key part of the intervention. This can be achieved, for example, by leveraging government workers or volunteers that have the capacity to reach either rural or urban communities directly. If you are interested in this option, please let us know the size of the network you can mobilize and the areas they could work in, so that we can match it with our existing plans.

Mask procurement

We are looking for organizations with the capacity or funding to procure a large number of quality masks that can be massively distributed. While surgical masks might be cheaper to procure, any mask is better than no mask.

Information provision, design, and/or distribution

We are looking for partners that have the ability to create and distribute communications materials to promote correct mask usage. Such materials could include social media clips (posts or videos) in both English and local languages, brochures, posters/flipbooks, etc. In terms of dissemination, media buys and skills with social media ads would be an important part, particularly for work in cities.

Coordination with community leaders

We are looking for partners with the ability to reach out to community leaders at the local level (elected officials, religious leaders, informal community leaders, etc.) that can commit to highlighting the importance of mask-wearing in their interactions with others.

Monitoring

Collecting data on mask-wearing is easier than doing surveys or most other ways of evaluating the impact of an intervention. Having the capacity to collect this data (using an app we have already developed) and analyze it to help make adjustments when necessary could be very valuable to other implementation partners. If you have a team of data collectors or access to those, please describe the strength of the team and the areas in which they could do the data collection.
